Jean-Pierre Labry has been awarded the title of Knight of the French National Order of Merit (Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite), one of France’s highest national distinctions, granted by the President of the French Republic.
The decoration was conferred during an official ceremony held at the Cercle National des Armées in Paris, and presented by General François Mermet, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor.
In his address, General Mermet paid tribute to Jean-Pierre Labry’s exceptional career and long-standing commitment to advancing France’s international economic influence, particularly in the Middle East, where he has been actively engaged for over 30 years.
Highlighting the significance of his contribution, General Mermet stated:
“Today, in this esteemed venue that has welcomed and supported countless officers, I have the honor of recognizing the merits of a true fighter.
Jean-Pierre Labry, you are a soldier — not with weapons or a uniform — but a soldier of France’s foreign trade.”
